Resting as Awareness
Meditations
These meditations are gentle invitations rather than techniques. They are offered to be entered slowly, without striving or expectation. Nothing needs to be achieved here—only noticed.
Resting as Awareness
Take a moment to arrive.
Let the body be exactly as it is.
No need to adjust, improve, or settle.
Allow the breath to move naturally.
There is nothing to control.
Now notice:
you are aware.
No need to define that awareness.
No need to locate it.
Just notice that awareness is already present.
If thoughts arise, let them arise.
They are movements within awareness.
They do not disturb it.
If sensations appear in the body, let them appear.
They, too, are known.
Now gently notice the habit of looking outward—
the tendency of awareness to follow objects, sensations, thoughts.
Without effort, allow that movement to soften.
You are not turning inward.
You are not focusing.
You are simply no longer chasing.
Rest here.
There may be a moment—quiet, subtle—
where awareness recognizes itself.
Not as a thought.
Not as an image.
But as immediacy.
If the sense of being “inside” the body loosens, let it.
If it does not, that is fine.
Nothing needs to dissolve.
And yet, something may.
Notice the coherence that emerges—
not in the mind,
but in the heart.
A feeling of alignment without explanation.
A knowing without words.
Now, gently ask—without seeking an answer:
Who is aware?
Let the question fall open.
Do not follow it with thought.
Notice how the question dissolves
into the very awareness that hears it.
Rest here.
As awareness.
Knowing itself
by being itself.
When you are ready,
allow movement to return.
Carry nothing with you.
Nothing was gained.
Nothing was lost.
